How the practice fits together
One office, four attorneys, no hand-offs.
At a large injury firm, the lawyer who signs you up is often not the one who works the file, and the person you speak to week to week may not be a lawyer at all. This firm is built the other way. There are no legal assistants working files in place of an attorney, so the person returning your call is an attorney who knows your case.
The four overlap on the core of the work: car and truck crashes, workers’ compensation, and premises cases. Beyond that each brings something the others lean on. Erik has handled injury cases since 1991 and is the one who talks to insurance adjusters. Jeremy was a certified public accountant before law school, spends his whole practice in litigation, and handles the firm’s maritime and Social Security disability work. Sarah adds family law, successions, and estate planning, which come up more often than people expect after a death or a serious injury. Rick, the second generation of the family in the office, works the same core injury files.
Three of the four worked at the firm before they were admitted, Sarah as an undergraduate and Jeremy as a law clerk among them. That is why the roster has barely changed, and why a client who calls back years later usually reaches the same attorney. More on how the firm came to be is on the about page.
